The Renaissance

The rejuvenation is still on. For a brief time, Ashish Nehra was the bright star of the Indian pace bowling universe. Along with Srinath and Zaheer he helped India to the 2003 world cup finals, in the process returning the best bowling performance by an Indian bowler in the world cup. But, inevitably injuries crept in and Nehra became an after thought.
But, the IPL has shown signs that he is on the mend. He is still not the old Nehra, but sooner rather than later he will return.

Showed promise, but how the body responds will show whether he will be as good as he was in 2004.

Was it you or Ott, John, who felt that Nehra was upto no good? I mean really weedy no good kinds.

This is just 4 overs in T20 matches. His comeback is welcome but he didn't impress in the Ranji season for Delhi. (OK that was early...soon after his return, but let's watch him for reliability considering that Pathan is now a bits and pieces player and RP is up there at one time and down next.

He was never a keen test match player in the past...that's something to keep in mind.
